Person pouring oil into a hot frying pan on a stovetop

The oil sprayer that puts the cook back in charge.

Cooking with oil requires control that most oil-dispensing tools do not offer. A pour overshoots. An aerosol disperses propellants and additives along with the oil. A pump bottle clogs or requires priming. None of them behave the way a cook actually wants to work.

Delta Industries had developed a nozzle technology that could atomize viscous cooking oils without any aerosol propellant, using mechanical pre-compression alone. What they needed was a product built around it: something that could live on a kitchen counter, next to the stove, and feel like it belonged there rather than under the sink.

Michael Graves Design took the nozzle and built the Evo around it. A bottle form that reads as a cooking tool, not a cleaning product. A trigger lever integrated into the design rather than bolted onto it. A rotating nozzle that shifts between vertical and horizontal fan patterns in two seconds. Measured output of exactly 1/4 teaspoon per pull. A twist-on refill funnel with a hook that stores on the bulk oil jug. Four silicone identification bands. A flavor filter. Shatterproof, food-safe, BPA-free construction.

The form, materials, and color won the IHA Innovation Award. The packaging, custom typeface, and graphic system won the 2014 Print Regional Design Award. The product transformed Delta Industries from an industrial sprayer manufacturer into a housewares company.

Cooking is one of the twelve Activities of Daily Living that Michael Graves Design builds around. Oil goes into nearly every meal. A tool that delivers it precisely, purely, and exactly where the cook intends is a tool that makes cooking better every single day.
