Monthly Delight Feature: Meet Tammy

This month, we’re delighted to introduce you to Tammy, a dedicated nurse and caregiver for her mother. Tammy’s story reflects the heart of Michael Graves Design—creating products that bring dignity, safety, and beauty to everyday life.

Tell us about yourself—what’s your story?

I am a caregiver for my mother.

What is one thing you’d like our readers to know?

The durability, colors, and excellent designs are what first led me to Michael Graves Design.

What do you love most about Michael Graves Design?

I cannot thank you enough for designing products for the disabled. My mom uses the MG cane and toilet seat. The current DME market is riddled with products that aren’t durable and can create fall or trip hazards. Michael’s designs are changing the world.

For example, the first shower seat we bought for my mom—made by another company—had a curved seat that tipped her out when she tried to exit the tub. If I wasn’t there, she would have been seriously hurt. The Michael Graves Design shower seat, on the other hand, has a wide seating and back support area and is VERY sturdy!

What do the Michael Graves Design canes bring to the table that others were lacking?

Stability, better ways to grip, and improved balance.

What is your favorite Michael Graves Design product?

All of them, but the wheelchairs are quite amazing. I work as an Xray tech PRN and all my patients who come into the ER are wheeled around in his beautiful blue wheelchairs. I tell all of them the story of Michael Graves - amazing architect, designer... and why he made the products. It takes their minds off of their own issue while they are in the ER and tell are wheeled around in true art.

Tammy’s experience as both a nurse and a caregiver highlights the real difference thoughtful, human-centered design can make. From safety in the bathroom to comfort in the ER, Michael Graves Design products are more than functional—they’re life-changing.
