Dohm® Sound Machine
Fan-based white noise machine with two speeds and adjustable tone for continuous, non-looping sound
The Dohm works because it is not digital.
A real fan motor inside the unit produces continuous, non-looping sound that masks the unpredictable intrusions of everyday life: voices, traffic, the house settling. Two speed settings and a rotatable tone collar let you tune the sound until the room feels right. The result is a sleep environment you can dial in, not one you accept as-is.
The Dohm has been on bedside tables since 1962. Its longevity is the product story.

The sound machine that makes the room ready to rest in.
Rest requires the right conditions. Not silence, necessarily. But something steady enough that the brain stops scanning for the next interruption and finally lets go.
The Dohm has been providing those conditions since 1962. Not because it was first, but because what it does works: a real fan motor running continuously, producing analog sound that masks the irregular noise of daily life without ever repeating, never sounding like a file on loop, never cutting out.
Two speeds and a rotatable tone collar let each person tune the sound to their room, their sleep, their way of winding down. There is no app. There is no screen. There is a switch, a collar to turn, and a sound that stays on through the night.
Sleep hygiene is one of the twelve Activities of Daily Living that Michael Graves Design builds around, because how well people rest shapes how fully they can live the next day. The Dohm was designed for that moment before sleep: when the room needs to become quieter than the world outside it, so the body can finally let go.
